Industrial Production in Germany decreased 4.0 percent in August of 2014 over the previous month. It is the lowest monthly drop since November 2008, driven by a 4.8 percent decline in industry excluding energy and construction while the manufacturers of capital goods fell 8.8 percent. The production of intermediate goods (–1.9%) and the production of consumer goods (–0.4%) decreased. Energy production was up by 0.3% in August 2014, while the production in construction decreased by 2.0%.
