U.S SALES, PRICES AND MANUFACTURING FIGURES FALL

All figures have fallen in a US market where consumers lack confidence.

U.S. retail sales fell 0.3% in September

  • First fall in eight months

  • Sales fall in cars, trucks and gasoline

  • Retail purchases down 0.1 percent

  • Only electronic sales up 3.4 percent due to iPhone 6

  • Overall annual rise of 4.3 percent

U.S. producer prices fall 0.1% in September

  • Wholesale prices dropped slightly

  • First decline in over a year

  • Inflationary pressure continues to recede

  • Low gasoline prices affecting the market

  • Wholesale food prices down 0.7%

  • Core wholesale prices also fell by 0.1 percent

  • Annual producer prices risen an unadjusted 1.6%

  • Personal consumption down 0.2 percent

Empire State index falls sharply to 6.2 in October

  • Down sharply to 6.2 in October

  • September measured five-year high of 27.5

  • New orders index dropped to minus 1.7 – September measured 16.9

  • Shipments tumbled to 1.1 from 27.1
