[APPLE] – Will we see Apple rise even more as they make the Beats music service available through iOS early 2015?
In yet another product launch this year, following the two versions of iPhone 6 and the new iOS operating system, now Apple turns its attention to user provision, giving iPhone and iPad users the chance to get Beats through iOS, possibly by March 2015.
Back in May, Apple announced the acquisition of the subscription streaming music service Beats Music, and Beats Electronics, which makes designer-styled and designer-priced Beats headphones, speakers and audio software. As part of the acquisition, Beats co-founders Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre joined Apple. The price tag was $3 billion, consisting of a purchase price of approximately $2.6 billion and approximately $400 million that will vest over time.
At the time of the acquisition, Tim Cook, Apple's CEO said, “we have kept investing in music and are bringing together these extraordinary teams so we can continue to create the most innovative music products and services in the world."
At present iTunes downloads are decreasing and artists are starting to question the validity and economics of streaming, but by making the decision to bundle the Beats subscription into iOS, Apple will be able to compete with Spotify, the music streaming company with 10 million subscribers, through targeting the 200 million estimated active iTunes customers. By covering three music stands – downloads, iTunes and iTunes Radio – Apple are determined to take the lion’s share of the music streaming market, maybe taking out the smaller but hugely popular Pandora and Soundcloud in the process.
At present APPLE have risen steadily from mid-October’s figure of 95.11 up to today’s 114.62.
