The release of APPLE Inc’s iOS 8 was not without its hiccups as the inclusion of HealthKit was delayed.
As APPLE attempts to stick to their programme of launches following the initial iPhone 6 unveiling, another glitch has surfaced. This time the operating platform iOS 8 was launched without the health-and fitness-monitoring system. Trudy Muller, a spokeswoman for Apple, said yesterday, “We discovered a bug that prevents us from making HealthKit apps available on iOS 8. We’re working quickly to have the bug fixed in a software update and have HealthKit apps available by the end of the month.”
This problem on top of security issues and privacy issues, does not seem to have affected the share trading and confidence in APPLE shares as a whole – after all, there is still iWatch to come and the bigger-screen iPhones going on sale tomorrow – keeping a steady march on the charts by skirting the 102 range, up by 0.43%.
APPLE has promised to iron out the bugs in HealthKit by later this month and the full installation of iOS 8 will be complete. However, the operating system takes up a massive 6.8MG of storage making the purchase of the iPhone 6 as possibly the only feasible way to feel the power of iOS 8 without taking up a fair percentage of storage capacity on ‘old’ models.
